AMY MILLER
Director/Producer
Amy Miller is an Emmy, Webby, and Jackson Wild award-winning documentary producer and director whose work explores discovery, experimentation, and the creative process across art and science. Her films bring audiences inside the studios, laboratories, and field sites where artists and scientists do their work, and she draws on the styles and sensibilities of the people she documents to shape the form of each film.
Her credits include Pick of the Litter for Disney+; SPARK, a long-running PBS series profiling Bay Area visual and performing artists; and QUEST, KQED’s science series. Through their production company, Spine Films, she and her husband, executive producer Josh Rosen, produced Lens of Time for the California Academy of Sciences, Saving Otter 501 for PBS NATURE, and now, Terry Riley: Beautiful Offerings. From 2019 to 2025, she served as KQED’s Director of Video Production and Distribution.
Since 2015, Miller has had exclusive access to Terry Riley and his archive, and she has been developing Beautiful Offerings in close partnership with Riley, his family, and his longtime collaborators. She lives and works in Berkeley, with offices in the historic Fantasy Building, in the same Bay Area geography where much of Riley’s own story took shape.
