Katie Bernstein is a documentary filmmaker, editor, and producer based in Northern California. Her debut film, Anchored Out, was acquired by The New Yorker Documentary. She was assistant editor and post supervisor on HBO’s six-part series Eyes on the Prize III: We Who Believe in Freedom Cannot Rest, and additional editor and post-producer on MTV Documentary Films’ Oscar-nominated I Am Ready, Warden. She has also edited and produced projects for Netflix, Trilogy Films, Meralta Films, and Concordia Studio. Her recent work focuses on inequality, labor, housing, and human rights, and she is drawn to documenting folk artists, musicians, changemakers, and explorers building alternative worlds and imaginative futures.
